I have been struggling doing this painting in oils on canvas so had a practice with mypaint to get more familiar with the image. I enclose it here. Most of the painting was done with a custom brush using elongated dabs that follow the direction of the pen.

I’m thinking that maybe the small waves are a little too close to each other and perhaps a bit too regular?
I agree, however, in the photo that i was copying, they were even more identical. They were close together as they were made by a passing boat in Poole Harbour and were about 2 inches high. Had i been able to clone them. See the photo.
