Continuing the discussion from MyPaint 1.2.0 Released!:
Currently, the only way to hide the footer bar is to go into fullscreen mode. After you start painting, both the header and footer bar will hide leaving you with a blank canvas if that is what you are looking for. You can also use the “Tab” to show and hide the UI while in fullscreen as well.
