How to Prevent Brush Shortcuts from Restoring Color?

Hi

I have developed a tick: Whenever I restore a brush, I hit the color history shortcut as well. I hate the fact that restore shortcuts change my color; I’m working with it. I just need a different texture.

Is this a conscious decision? Is anybody comfortable with this? What’s the logic behind it?

I think of brushes and colors as completely independent entities…

Would people be alright with me opening an issue requesting restore shortcuts to not change my color?

There is an option in MyPaint that allows you to toggle whether to restore color or not. It’s available via the brush menu up top.
